No tree node under Content, Medie...

    Hi

I have installed a local umbraco with Microsoft Web Platform Installer and it almost worked. The only problem I can see right now is that it does not show the content tree node under Content, the Media tree node under Media and so on.

When I installed the local umbraco I also installed WebMatrix. And I can se alle the templates files, css files...in webMatrix.  I have installed the Starter kits.

Has anybody seen this problem before and can you help me?

    Hi Kate

Could you perhaps post a screendump of the screen you're currently seeing?

And if you open up firebug, or the built in inspector tool in Chrome do you then get any error messages in the console window?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    /Jan

    Hi Jan

    Here is a screendump.

As you can see there is a error and it keeps repeating it self.

Hope you can help me :-)

    /Kate

    Hi Kate,

I think this is usually a permission issue - did you verify you've added the correct permissions to the Umbraco install?  (Sorry if this isn't relevant to WebMatrix as I haven't used that yet)

I wasn't asked to add any permissions when I installed Umbraco.

Is there anywhere I can see if I have set the right permissions?

Yeah, it's not part of the installer.  In the folder your website is running from, you can right-click it, goto Properties, and click the Security tab.  Not sure how WebMatrix runs sites, but normally you should make sure "NETWORK SERVICE" or "IIS_IUSRS" has full control permissions to the site.

Hmm, I wonder if it has to do with the fact that your Home directory is on a server/UNC path.  Can you run the site from another location on your drive?  Unfortunately I'm not that familiar with the way Webmatrix runs sites :/
