I have an umbraco 4.7.1 site that has been live for a while and the umbracoLog table is gradually growing quite large. Can I safely delete old rows from this table without affecting the site in anyway?
I read another article in the forum that said the audit trail was based on the contents of the umbracoLog table, so I'm unsure if deleting the rows is a good idea. Can anyone offer some advice please?
If you or the content editors are actually using the audit trail then its probably a good idea to delete only old entries - something like entries older then 1-2 months to ensure that there is still a usable audit trail. But if the audit trail is not used its perfectly fine to delete the entries in the umbracoLog table.
