Template not saved / file could not be saved

    Hi,

There are different topics related to this and I tried to use those ideas but didn't work for me. I had a working website on umbraco, I installed one package and suddenly some errors occured. So, I have installed the previous version back and now I am not able to edit any of the template, script or xslt.

I have asked admin to reasign all rights on those files, also I have reinstalled everything 2-3 times. Is there any way to solve this issue!

    Thanks for help.

    Sundip

    Hi Sundip

What version of Umbraco did you experiene this on?

On what package caused the issue?

These informations are required in order to provide a proper answer :)

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Jan,

Umbraco version 4.7.1.1 and by mistake I installed the uComponents version 5.0.1 and now I am not able to revert back to the original.

    Thank you for replying.

    Hi Sundip

    I see...that is a bad situation.

Do you have any backup of the database?

I don't suppose you're using any kind of source control so you can rollback to the version before uComponents 5.0.1?

Don't know if upgrading to Umbraco 4.8 could solve anything perhaps?

Yes, it is. I do have a backup of database, anything possible with that?

How to upgrade Umbraco version on top of this?

    Thank you,

    Sundip

Yes, then you should be able to restore the site.

Must admit that I've never tried doing it myself in this kind of situation. But I would make sure that the correct version of uComponents is installed and then try to restore the backup in a new database and change the connection in the web.config accordingly and see if that helps.

If you don't know how to restore the database then I suggest you have a chat with the DB admin about it.

    Fingers crossed!

    Hey Jan,

Solved this issue, was a problem in IIS permissions on the files. Reinstaaling from the older version made changes to the IIS permissions.

Finally, I can edit and save my templates, scripts and other files.

    Thanks,

    Sundip
