The latest version is 6. And that is the one I would recommend for newcommers.
In v6 there has been focus on making the internal and external API's better, faster and easier to use.
In v4 since 4.8 focus has been on cleaning up the codebase and making it possible to use MVC - Many bugs have been fixed and the codebase is cleaner.
If you have just installed 4.11.4 and have played around with it I recommend that you simply install a clean version of Umbraco 6 instead of upgrading.
Two different version threads, which one is the "latest"
Hello,
I see that at CodePlex there are two version thread for Umbraco. They are Umbraco 4.11.x and Umbraco 6.0.0. Can somebody outline
- what is the purpose of these two enumeration,
- what is the difference between them,
- which one is the "latest".
If I have installed 4.11.4, should I upgrade to 6.0.0?
Regards, Martin
