We have umbraco 472 install and every now and then we are getting sql server timeouts. It seems to work for weeks then suddenly dies. So you cannot login and you get database connection timeout. If we restart app pool nothing works but if we restart sql server then site comes back up till the next time it dies. One thing to note we are using entity framework on some parts of the site.
Hi :), what version of sql are you using? What kind og site is it and what is the load like? I presume you have checked the logs and event viewer? What do they suggest? Is there anything unique happening when this happens? Anything about the day and time that someone would be doing something? Charles :)
using sql server 2008 we suspect its entity framework causing the issue. if we restart iis nothing happens it still runs v slow however we restart the db and its back to normal. fault seems to occur intermittantly
