Installing Umbraco via MS WebPI fails on Win8 64 with VS2012 and MVC4

When trying to install Umbraco via MS WebPI or NuGet I get the following errormessage:

    "

You have a newer version of NuGet installed that's incompatible with ASP.NET MVC 3 Tools Update. To continue installing this product, please refer to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=266638

    "

I'm trying to install on a machine with Windows 8 64, with Visual Studio 2012 professional and the ASP.Net MVC 4 framework.

Is there a way around this, or is my only option to download and do a manual install?

Looks like a common issue with a VS SDK and  Nuget compatibility and most web threads I see suggest uninstalling Nuget, updating VS, then re-installing Nuget.  Unfortunately there's not much we can do, but hopefully it'll get ironed out by the WPI folks soon.
