Okay - This issue is probably covered in thousands of documents - But those I have found, still don't help me. Situation: Trying umbraco to see whats it all about. Using the recommended MS webmatrix thing, I apparently have succeded in setting up a local site. (Ver 6.0.2)
Now I want to see it on the www. But of course, this is not as simple, and the error-chain is long.
Has anyone seen a step-by-step guide, how to upload (and what to check for), when publishing to the www? And how to create the www database?
I suppose many people uses a webhost with limited access to the webserver settings. And maybe we could share our troubles setting Umbraco up?
So: Where to look for recent information? Best regards
I use unoeuro with success - it's cheap and easy to set up. It has FTP access and I just copy all my files to the site. The DB access is done when I call the site for the first time - no really problems
