I am new to the Umbraco universe and I know there are a lot of topics already on this forumn about staging and production setups, however, through my hour or so of searching I have still not found one that covers the best practice setup. What I mean by this is: I am in the early stages of setting up a website for a new corporate client and I would like to know what the most optimum configuration would be knowing that my only requirements are that it uses Umbraco and that there is a Staging (Sandbox) environment and a Production (Live) environment.
Currently my plan is to setup two Amazon EC2 instances running Windows Server 2012 (Micro for Sandbox and Medium for Production). I will perform all of my initial setup/installation on the Sanbox and replicate the image to the production server. Once they are both online I plan to use Courier to synchronize the changes made to the Sandbox to my production server.
What is the best staging/production setup?
Hello Everyone!
I look forward to your feedback!
