I'd love to be able to run Umbraco on a Linux server, instead of expensive Windows machines. I quick Google search shows me that it doesn't seem to be working out of the box, but that Can Koluman is working on porting Umbraco versions for Mono. Will there be official support for Mono?
I don't think that there will be official support for mono. I think that if Umbraco is going to run mono it's because of a private project that can make it happen. It's not something that the HQ is working on.
Does anyone have an update on this one? OP did you end up trying this out? I'd love to hear if it did work out. I've been doing some research on it myself and just found a bunch of mixed kindas like this one. Wondering if the newer versions have better support / if mono has developed enough to knock most of the bugs out.
