Installation error on Windows server 2003

    Hello,

I am installing the latest version of Umbraco under the Default Website in IIS6 using Windows Server 2003 web edition - after following the installation guide, I navigate to http://localhost and receive the error

"Failed to start monitoring changes to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\App_Browsers because access is denied."

According to the installation guide - you don't need to give permissions for "Network Service" for the App_Browsers folder. I presume it's "Network Service" I use - or has this changed to "ASPNET"?

    Anyone experienced anything similar?

    Regards, Garry.

You can check what user is used in the properties of your applicationpool.

Yeah it is Network Service, just checked that - never seen this error before and all my permissions are set correctly - as far as I am aware anyway.

Cheers Ron, I managed to do it but I simply copied my folders out of wwwroot and then back in - as I was testing a singular aspx file in between to ensure that it was executing correctly. Strange that it worked after it though - thanks anyway.
