    How to search inside Our Umbraco?

    Hello,

    I guess this might be a dumb question, but I just can't figure out:

    - How to search for combined words like "media type package" and of course I only want results containg ALL keyword.

    - How to filter by Umbraco-Version or at least by date?

    Maybe I'm just blind? I tried all the usual stuff like "+", "-", "&", "()", "[]"... nothing seems to work?

    Is there a How-To hidden somewhere?

    Thanx, Arnim.

    Hello,

    I'm not sure if this is actually possible. It might be better to search this site with Google.

    @Jeroen:

    Thanx for your answer, but it must be possible to search for a combind Keyword otherwise the whole serach would be totally useless?

    For example when I search for "media type export" I get over 10.000 results... what the heck?

    When you say "search bey google" is there a specific way to do this? Is the forum in the google index? How do I lock my search on google only the Umbraco forum?

    I have never ever seen a forum without the possibility for specific searches. This would be a total data-grave without possibilites of specific data retrievial?

    Arnim.

    @Seb: Thanx!

    Please don't ask me why I haven't tried "and" - maybe because its not really common outside the programmers world?

    Is there also a way to sort after date?

    Arnim.

    Why didn't you try?! :P

    Sorry, we haven't implemented sorting yet.

    Forget that, we now have some date sorting options at the top of each search result!

    You can manually add a space and "site:umbraco.org" to the end of any google query, and results will be restricted to any of the sites ending in umbraco.org (including issues.umbraco.org). I wholeheartedly recommend doing all searching of this forum using this method.
