    Access to the path 'installedPackages.config' is denied.

    I have just installed umbraco v 4.0.2.1, which worked out fine, but then I install new packages I see the following error

    There is a problem with read/write access to a specific file or folder:
    Access to the path 'c:\inetpub\wwwroot\data\packages\installed\installedPackages.config' is denied.

    I have installed "ImageGen" and "Image Cropper" but "Created packages" is emtpy, and the installedPackages.config is not updated.

    I have checked the security settings and all the folders have the NETWORK SERVICE full control.

    The installation is a localhost installation on a windows XP machine.

    Windows XP's Network Service equivalent account is actually ASPNET. Give the ASPNET account Modify permissions as applicable and you should be good to go.
