    Choose Document types: empty list

    Hello,

I've just installed umbraco. I was busy with trying something.

I tried to add a item in the content by clicking [Create]. I filled a name for the new item. Willing to choose a document type, the list is empty. Do I have to install something to have a filled list?

    Umbraco Verson 6.1.5.

    Windows 8, IIS version 8

    Hi Corbins,

Do you have rights for creating this node under your parent node ? Did you read some articles about node creating, nodeTypes and other things in Umbraco ?

    THanks, Alex

    Hi Corbins,

In addon to Alex post, I think this is a good starting point to learn about template and document types, or just basic stuff of Umbraco,

    http://umbraco.com/help-and-support/video-tutorials/introduction-to-umbraco.aspx.

The new videos about templates and document types can be found here, don´t know if you can wacth the new version of these videos for free.

    http://umbraco.tv/videos/implementor/fundamentals/document-types/what-is-a-document-type

    http://umbraco.tv/videos/implementor/fundamentals/templating/introduction

If you have any further questions, keep asking.

    /Dennis

    Hi Dennis,

The solution was to add some allowed nodes in the homepage. No nodes were allowed. By checking a few Document Types as allowed on the Homepage, it was possible to add a TextPage.

Indeed, I don't know how to mark a question as solved. ;-)

By clicking the High five on the right?

May bee, it takes a few days for me to do so, because I've to go to the hospital for a few days.

    Cor

    Hi Cor,

When you find the right answer, under the person who have give you the solution, to the problem, there is a green tick. I have made a screenshot from one of my posts to show you where to find the green tick. Then click on it.
