I have to upgrade Umbraco version in my large website
projects. I'm very interested in changes made for 6.2.0 which I can find here: http://our.umbraco.org/contribute/releases/620. These changes are very important for our team. Maybe all fiexed issues are introduced to 6.1.6 release?
Before I upgrade Umbraco I always have to develop some changes in Umbraco core. I can find source code of this version (https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS) but I don't know how to prepare all files for website in easy way.
Do you have any tool to prepare instalation (website files for upgrade) based on compiled VS solution?
First of all: Any changes in 6.2.0 are largely untested and everything is still subject to change.
I would not recommend using a work in progress on a project that is going to go live soon.
But if you must...
We produce nightly builds every day over here: http://nightly.umbraco.org/umbraco%206.2.0/
Only the builds for which the unit tests all pass are published here.
If you want to make your own builds then clone the source and look in the build folder, the build.bat file produces the same packages that we eventually offer on the download page.
Yup, we always publish the dates at which we expect to release a stable version!
Thanks for adding the issue about the membershipprovider to the tracker, that's great! If possible, it would be awesome to get a pull request for that change.
If you have any other customizations that you always need to do then make sure to add them as issues to the tracker and/or send us a pull request. :-)
We usually try to indeed make the dates we set out. Sometimes there's unforeseen delays though, but we try not to delay releases too long if there are.
Thanks a lot for information. I didn't know anythig about contribute posibilities. Probably I'm very involved in my Umbraco website projects and I don't have time to do additional interesting things.
I'm very interested in contribution. At the beginnig I will add major issues and then try to contribute at GitGub.
I will have a look when I get a chance, but it's probably not going to happen until the weekend. :)
Maybe it's wise to wait for our feedback before you add any more for now.
Upgrade to 6.2.0 before release

Your answer clarified my confusion. Probably I will be waiting for 6.2.0 release. It will save my work :)
Could you tell me if the 14 November 2013 is stable date of 6.2.0 release?

I know that these dates mean the time when you release stable version but I would like to know if the date is steady :)
Could you explain what you mean by: "to get a pull request".
I have made a lot of customization. I will look at them and I will try to share them by issue tracker or by email.
We usually try to indeed make the dates we set out. Sometimes there's unforeseen delays though, but we try not to delay releases too long if there are.
We have documentation on contributions here:
http://our.umbraco.org/contribute/
And specifically on pull requests here:
http://our.umbraco.org/contribute/working-with-the-umbraco-source
Please don't use e-mail, the issue tracker is absolutely the best place for this. Thanks!

Could you tell me what are the chances that my modifications appear in 6.2.0?
Hi Sebastian!
I have just created some pull requests. Could you tell me if I did it in the right way?
Thanks!
