I am currently upgrading an umbraco installation from 4.7.1.1 to 4.8.0.
Because it takes a fair old while to do this (includng testing etc), it would be nice to run the installation on a clone of the live machine, test, copy the database and media folder to the upgraded version and then edit the dns record to point at the new the server.
I could do this if 4.2.0 and 4.8.0 dont make any changes to the database during installation but I can seem to find this out for certain. I have restored an old pre upgrade copy of the database post upgrade and it doesn't seem to have broken anything but i'd like to be sure.
So my question is this: Is there a list somewhere detailing which Umbraco upgrades alter the database?
based on this documentation (last 2 lines) there are only two database update :
"Since version 4.0.0 there have been two database upgrades, one to version 4.1.0 and one to version 4.9.0.
Version 6 introduces a large database upgrade and still handles all the previously necessary database upgrades too."
Which upgrade versions change the database?
