Upgrade woes moving from v4.7.1.1 . . . "Error loading Razor Script"

Hi all, I'm a total Umbraco newbie having been literally thrown in at the deep end regarding getting our installation upgraded from v4.7.1.1 to v6.x - following advice from the forum I'm attempting to upgrade each version at a time and have so far managed to successfully upgrade to v4.7.2. Getting it to v4.8.0 however is proving to be something of an issue.

I have followed the 2 upgrade articles - http://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Installation/Upgrading/general & http://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Installation/Upgrading/version-specific# but I've run into a problem that I can't seem to resolve. With debug disabled I am seeing the following error(s):-

'Error loading MacroEngine script (file: BannersHome.cshtml)'

'Error loading MacroEngine script (file: Footer.cshtml)'

After enabling debug I see the following error:-

    'Error loading Razor Script Footer.cshtml
The type initializer for 'Examine.ExamineManager' threw an exception.'

As per the following two articles (http://our.umbraco.org/forum/developers/razor/28180-The-type-initializer-for- & http://our.umbraco.org/forum/developers/razor/24343-)
I have checked permissions on C:\Windows\Temp & on \App_Data\Temp - Network Service has Full Access, I have also tried deleting \App_Data\TEMP\ExamineIndexes & \App_Data\TEMP\Razor, still it will not play nicely!

My current setup is as follows:-
    Windows Server 2003 R2 with SP2 (32 bit)
    IIS 6
    ASP.NET version 4.0.30319
    Internet Explorer 8

    Umbraco Contour 1.1.12
    uComponents 3.0.1
    DigiBiz Advanced Media Picker 2.0
    MultiType DataType 1.1.1
    Youtube Embed 4

I realise that uComponents breaks when running 4.8.0 but I have followed the necessary workaround (http://our.umbraco.org/projects/backoffice-extensions/ucomponents/questionssuggestions/33021-Upgrading-to-Umbraco-48-breaks-support-for-uComponents)

I am at a total loss and slowly losing the will to live (with Umbraco). Any help or guidenace that anyone can offer me will be very much appreciated

    Thanks
    Jonathan
