    reindex.aspx - questions

    I can't find any documentation on this either via google or an umbraco.org search.

     

    What _exactly_ does it do, how long should it take and when/how often should it be done? 

     

    I attempted it on my dev machine yesterday and it took over 2 hours and then started again once the counter had ticked over al documentsl (~6900). The CMS seems significantly *slower* since then.
