How to "Perform permissions check" in Umbraco 7

    This page...

    http://our.umbraco.org/wiki/reference/files-and-folders/permissions/perform-permissions-check

... does not address Umbraco 7.  I just installed 7.1.1, which states:

Please also remove the /Install folder if you haven't done so, it is no longer used and might conflict with the new upgrader if it's still there.

How do I perform a permissions check?

    Thanks,

    Lee

    Hi Lee,

You can perform permission check manually, loot at:

Thanks, Alex, but I already know of that page.  I had directed my server admin to it, to set the permissions on the Web server.  Now, I want to test that Umbraco is happy with the permissions that were set, which requires using the built-in "permission check" functionality.  They go hand-in-hand, the page your referenced and the one I referenced.

So, again, thaks, but I'm still waiting for an aswer to my original question.

Why do we waste our time posting issues? They rarely get a proper response, if any at all. Oh, wait, I know, we do it for karma points. Can I spend those on coffee? Because they do me no good in getting replies to real issues with Umbraco. Hello, Umbraco team. Do you care? Does anyone care?

    Again nice attitude Lee.

The page you refer too clearly states the following :

The legacy wiki pages are here for reference purposes only. For up-to-date information make sure to check the documentation section.

So if you had actually read the documentation you would have found this page which indicates which permissions are needed

    https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Getting-Started/Setup/Server-Setup/permissions

Happy to help out again...no it's not just about the karma. It's about a friendly community

    Dave
