    Major installation issues with Umbraco

    I have had numerous issues with Umbraco installation in the past, but right now none of the installation options installs Umbraco the correct way.

    I have tried installation through NuGet, Web Matrix and manual and they all result in the same error (see below).
    Im guessing its something wrong with my system, but im not sure what it is and i hope someone here van shed some light on it.

    Umbraco version: the latest, but i have also tried umbraco 6.
    Asp.Net version: 4.5 but i have also tried 4.5.1
    Windows 7 64 bit IIS 7.5

    Sounds like a very unfortunate experience :(

    But I'm wondering what the issue could be since it sounds like you've tried every option available. I have done installs of both v6.x.x and 7.x.x using webmatrix and manually without any issues and so have many other people. So it's weird that it does not happen smoothly for you.

    However I'm thinking - When you try installing using Webmatrix do you then find Umbraco in the app gallery in Webmatrix or do you open an extracted .zip folder and then use Webmatrix for installing it?

    I suspect that perhaps you miss a framework or another dependency and if you're installing using the webmatrix gallery then it should install the dependencies for you before it start installing Umbraco.

    Hi Jan,

    Thank for your reply.

    When i install Umbraco using Webmatrix i always select Umbraco from the App gallery.
    Is there a way to find out what dependency i could be missing?

    I removed and reinstalled Webmatrix and installed Umbraco using the documentation, but i stil get the same error.
    According to WebMatrix everything went fine and installation was completed like it should.

    I think i got it fixed.

    I reinstalled System.Web.Http package and got it fixed.
