I am due to start a new job which will mean writing and editing content for a website that uses Umbraco. I presume the developers will be taking care of the design part of it etc.
So only having used Wordpress before I decided to download Umbraco and spend a day or two working out how to edit text content. That is all I need
It is driving me mad.
1. I double click on the latest version of Umbraco and it gets Web Platform 5.0 and then click Instll.
2. SQL Server CE I was told somewhere on the net to choose that do I do.
3. Okay one installtion listed, namely Unbraco itself, at 86.58MB. I click: "I Accept."
4. I then get this:

I went to first try and install powershell and the Vista ones say No such interface error 8000402 and so I tried the other versions and they didn't work either I might as well just accept me and Umbraco were never destined to be together.
Would working in safe mode be worth trying? Thanks
Thanks I got it installing THEN it stays at 35% whilst "Installing Tables" ...
I googled it and it says this might be something to do with the wrong database entries or something.
I am a content writer who has only ever used Wordpress with 12 hours to learn how to edit and add text on Umbraco. I don't know what ASP.net my SQL is, I have no idea. I will learn about it but not in time for my interview.
Can you tell me if simply adding and editing text in Umbraco is difficult? I presume the web development team will take care of the major technicalities of the website.

It looks like Umbraco cannot be installed because some prerequisites are not installed.
Can you try to install the ones that fail seperatly ?

Maybe you can try to download the zip file, extract it and than open it with webmatrix ?
