I just installed to my server via web platform installer and for some reason in backoffice when I go to change a users password I get "Error saving user (check log)"
I found an old thread from 2009 that suggested changing users login name. I tried this but it didn't work.
I went into SQL server to see if I could find log in a database table for logs but there are no tables that I can see which is confusing.
Anyone have any ideas why this happens? It works on my local copy just fine.

Hi Mike
In the /app_data/logs folder you'll find the umbraco trace log. Try checking it and see if it reveals some more useful information about the error.
Make sure that permissions have been set properly according to http://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Installation/permissions
Hope this helps.
