Hi, iam currently want to move the Umbraco Database (try with clean installation (Umbraco 6.x and 7.x) to SQL Server Express 2012 (Running on Windows Server 2012) . But with no success. i got always the following error message.
on the sql server i have set everything to allow remote access . On the Windows Server i have had enabled the ports 1433 and 1434 . When test over administrative tools->odbc connections->SQL Server Native Client i can successfull connect to the database. when i try a small .net programm with simple connection string to the sql server 2012 it works too. but with umbraco i cannot connect. Why? i have soon already test the server with ip, with instance name with port but nothing .
anyone of you an idea? regards stefan
The database configuration failed with the following message: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) Please check log file for additional information
