Installing packages at 7.2: Error "Invalid host name"

I have installed Umbraco 7.2 at a hosting provider www.unoeuro.com without any problems. It is installed by uploading the unzipped files via ftp.

Next I wish to install a few packages, tried ImageGen and Vorto. The installation process fails for both and an error "invalid hostname" is displayed, and the 'busy' indicator goes on and on.

    Any advices are higly appreciated.

    /Frank

Have you tried downloading the packages locally and then using the 'Install Local package' option instead?

If that works then it could be something to do with Firewall settings on the server you're hosting on.

    Hi Alan

I have now tried your advice. It's now working. Thanks a lot.

Installing the package by using the 'Install Local package' option solved the problem.

I'm having the same problem running locally using Visual Studio and the NuGet package for 7.2.  Local package installation works, but install from repository does not.  Also same on server.

Same here. Anyone able to add packages directly from the Umbraco package repository?
