Hi, me Alastair Brian, New on this forum and yes new in the umbraco. was looking a Good CMS system, threrefore decided to try Umbraco.
Just want to ask that which version of Umbraco is stable that I can use initiallly.
Hi Alastair and welcome to our :)
Umbraco 7.2.2 is the latest stable version - You can download it here https://our.umbraco.org/contribute/releases/722
On the download overview you can see the current stable version on those versions that are being worked upon https://our.umbraco.org/download
In regards to installing you can find information and guidelines here https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Installation/
To get to grips with the backoffice and the concepts involved when building an Umbraco site you can find some nice information here for starters https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Using-Umbraco/Creating-Basic-Site/ and http://24days.in/umbraco/2014/how-to-set-up-an-umbraco-site/ - However the site appears to be down at the moment so I'll have to spend some time looking into that (It's an annual advent calendar driven by me and Chriztian Steinmeier). But in the meanwhile the article is accessible using google's cache here http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:3oGOG1nR46cJ:24days.in/umbraco/2014/how-to-set-up-an-umbraco-site/+&cd=77&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=dk
Hope this helps.
