HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error - Hosted with 1and1.co.uk

II'm trying to get Umbraco working with my 1and1 account, however i seem to be getting an error: "HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error". The website is running version 7.1.8.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a solution to this problem.

Hi Sam and welcome to our :-)

Sad to hear that you can´t get Umbraco working, perhaps this post can help you get it to work. https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/6e79cb01-ffb0-439c-8e1c-505a29b87671/iis7-http-error-50019-internal-server-error?forum=dotnetstocktradersampleapplication

What I can read in other cases it could also be that you are using a wrong .NET version. If you are trying to run Umbraco 7, you need to have ASP.NET 4.5 installed. Since you are trying to get Umbraco working on your hosting provider 1and1.co.uk, it could be an idea to get in touch with the 1and1 support to check if they are meet the system requirements.https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/Installation/system-requirements

    Hope this helps,

    /Dennis

    Hi Sam,

Did you also tried to take contact to your hosting provider 1and1 support, to get confirmed that every thing is in place to run Umbraco on your webhotel. Perhaps they can help you to solve why you´re getting the 500.19 error.

    /Dennis

Are you using Website panel for the hosting management system?

Sound like something in the applicationhost.config needs to be changed to allow you override it in the web.config. Not sure they would want to do this as theres probably a good reason they have locked it down (SPAM control etc).

The error is relating to Trust Level

    Many this answer will help:

Hi Sam - How did you resolve this issue? I'm curious as my client purchased a package with 1and1 and I'm getting the same error. Can you please share the fix/experience?

    Thanks, Toni
