I have taken over the administration of a umbraco website but I have only been given a password so I can login and view the content. I need to access as an administrator, but I don't know how to do that. I have access to all files etc. via ftp so I assume that it must be possible to have full access. It is running on a MySQL server
The easiest would be to get the "Master" administrator login from the guys you have been taking over for. But I guess that might not necessarily be an option since you're asking for help in here.
The only other option is to reset the password for the "Master" administrator account I guess - There is a lot of information about how to do that in this post https://our.umbraco.org/forum/using/ui-questions/4790-ouch-forgot-admin-password-how-to-reset - Make sure to read it all since there are different approaches and make sure to make a backup of the database first. Better safe than sorry :)
