Making changes to Umbraco Source to create multi-lingual site.

    Hi,

I want to implement multi-lingual feature in Umbraco. Where in I can create pages for other languages in same location of English version page(sibling to english) and create one usercontrol that picks up the data from document for appropriate language and displays it. I want to use latest version of Umbraco source, So that I can make required changes without much difficulty.

    I want to know following:

    1. How should I go further using(install) Umbraco Source (the right approach)?

    2. Which version from source code I should use?

    Following is my machine config....

    .net 3.5

    Windows Vista and IIS 7

    Please reply.....

    Thanks,

    Ranjit J. Vaity

Use latest stable version of Umbraco.

Look into dictionary when doing that kind of site - it can do what you need.

Also you can define in umbraco what domain should get what content.

You might also consider an umbraco package called Vorto. I haven't had the chance to use it, personally, but I've heard good things. It lets you localize content per property editor. You could have a single node and have localized content for each property on the node. I'd give it a look even if it isn't quite what you want.
