Some CMS's such as EPiServer & MCMS (I'm not familair with Tridion) have the ability to "stage" a site i.e. to create the physical site/pages seperate from the database and CMS.
These CMS's are capable of running directly of the CMS though and do not need to create the physical files. Usually staging would be done for high usabily sites where performance is critical - I recall MS implemented such a solution for one of the previous Football World cups.
I do not know if there is an ability for Umbraco to do this but it should be possible to implement your own if it doesn't exist. However, for the most part it should not be necessary.
Umbraco- create aspx page physically?
Hi
I am starting work with umbraco CMS..i try to understand how umbraco work
Why umbraco doesn't create aspx page physically?
I tried to find aspx file in my pc...but it doesn't exists.
I can see in Properties Tab: Link to document "/homepage.aspx"
but homepage.aspx doesn't exist physically
i have worked with SDL Tridion CMS. Tridion create one aspx for each content.
For example
Events
EventOne
EventTwo
After i published those contents, tridion create EventOne.aspx and EventTwo.aspx physically
Can Umbraco create one aspx page by content?
How umbraco work?
Thanks for your helps
