Problems installing Umbraco: error: "Invalid URI: The Authority/Host could not be parsed."
Hi,
I'm trying to install Umbraco CMS, the latest version that can downloadable at the moment, in a subfolder (es: /umbracotest) of my website. I've set the permissions to the folder, and made it as an Application Folder.
However, when I try to load the install page through the browser, I get this error:
"Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.UriFormatException: Invalid URI: The Authority/Host could not be parsed."
Server Error in '/UmbracoTest' Application.
Invalid URI: The Authority/Host could not be parsed.
I don't believe the you can run Umbraco in a subdirectory or virtual directory, has to be on the root. (I think) this might be fixed in 4.1 but not sure
Yep, subfolders or virtual directories not yet supported, but will be in a future version... should check codeplex for this issue and find out if that'll be v4.0.4 or v4.1 (me thinks it'll be v4.1)

How come does this happen?

Sure?
I know of many other users that have installed Umbraco in subdirectories...
Are there any possibile solution to achieve this?

Mhm, thanks. I understand. So I'll need to wait for the new version :(
