authentication." I'm kind of stuck here as as far as I can see this should work.
Are you confusing 'users' and 'members' maybe? In Umbraco-speak users are Umbraco CMS log-in people, and members are front-end website log-in people. So if you're trying to password protect front-end pages/folders, when you try to set permissions it will relate to members.
