FWIW the only major limitation I've come across is there's no built-in facility to import old blog posts. There are ways around this if you Google or search this forum, but they're not particularly simple to implement.
It's not a great example as it's only v1 of blog4umbraco (the later versions are MUCH improved) but this runs on Umbraco: http://www.euroclad.com/blog.aspx. It also demonstrates the blog not at root level, which you asked about in your post last week (which is still not marked solved, hint hint ;))
Thanks, and yes it is a custom skin. The xslt is pretty highly modified and the templates were built from scratch on top of http://960.gs (my fav grid system).
It really wasn't difficult since most of the heavy lifting (tags, rss, paging) was already taken care of in the package.
Required a bit of hacking around but not much, if anything we ended up stripping stuff out of it and adding in some of our own styles. Took about 1/2 day to get it to match the rest of the site well enough.
Can I see examples of blogs using Umbraco?
Hi can you guys kindly show me an example of how you can make the umbraco blog package look?
Are there any short comings to the blog packages?
Thanks, Lister
I use Blog4Umbraco for my blog: http://www.rickybeard.com.
Lister,
Here's a link to the pdf explaining how to skin your own blog using the existing template system.

Looks amazing. Is that a custom skin that you made? Was it tricky to make?
