Personally, I'd go for something that has .net 3.5 and sql express installed. I like having full control soo I chose a virtual private server which allows me to just log in to remote desktop and do whatever I want. There are apparently other good hosts out there though, don't know which, I'll leave that up to other people to comment on.

Actually, it would be good to have a wiki of Umbraco friendly hosting providers (if they don't start spamming the list, that is...).

I've used Arvixe (http://www.arvixe.com) for a couple of web sites and they've been excellent and reasonably priced at $5 a month for up to 6 domains with unlimited space/data transfer (SQL Server 2008 Express).

They have a dedicated page for Umbraco...

Softsyshosting have been excellent for me as a US based solution (I use their shared servers for smaller projects).  EUKHost for a UK based solution (I've only used their VPS and dedicated, not shared, so can't vouch for that).  Both have given good support, are reasonably priced and feature-rich enough to run Umbraco on even their most basic packages.

If you are looking for a shared hosting provider, I've used both www.ehosting.co.uk and www.hostinguk.com with great success.

If you prefer the VPS route, I'd look at www.eukhost.com and their new Cloud VPS.
