I have a very simple package that I created from an Umbraco installation that was upgraded from 4.0.4.2 to 4.5. I first noticed that the XSLT files were not automatically included in the package and needed to be added to the file list like an assembly.
Then, when I installed the package onto a fresh 4.5 installation, none of the included content nodes were installed even though they are present in the package.xml file. Any suggestions?
i too experienced the xstl file not being grabbed -- you can add it through the file maintenance area of the packager. i have not worked much with using content in a package.
there is an issue on codeplex for the xslt issue... go vote it up :P
As far as content goes, I wonder if it has anything to do with the new xml schema in 4.5. Has anyone tried to load content from a package generated from 4.5?

Hi Ricky
I've made a workitem for the content issue - I'm experiencing this as well. Vote it up at http://umbraco.codeplex.com/workitem/27929/ !
