Hi,
I have just switched back to the standard media picker due to an upgrade to 4.5.2.
Uploading files like images works ok.
If I try to upload an .swg flash movie file the save button is disabled. I have turned off preview but to no avail.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't think it's possible to upload any other file types than images with the default picker
I believe the default picker doesn't support this. You can probably upload it with the upload datatype, but than you can't use the media picker. I'm currently building a media picker which does support this. It will be out in a few weeks.

Media picker - no save for .swf extensions
