Unable to find Runway Package in http://packages.umbraco.org
Hi,
I am first time installing the Umbraco package in my windows xp machine. I successfully installed the Umbraco package till the 4th Step. When I entered the 5th step, I am getting an error saying "No connection to repository. Runway could not be installed as there was no connection to: 'http://packages.umbraco.org'
". I did not find any Runway package from packages section of umbraco.org to install it manually.
Does the web-server that you are installing Umbraco on have external access to the internet? If not, then the installer can not retrieve the Runway package from the repository.
Unfortunately there isn't a direct download for the Runway package.
I think that you can find a "link" for downloading and installing Runway in the Developer section. Under the packages folder, there's an option called something like "Install Runway". This option is visible if you didn't install the Runway through the installation process. The option will change to something called "Runway modules" if the main Runway site is already installed.
But as Lee says, you need to have external access to the internet before it will work.
Thanks for your reply. I have installed IIS 5.1 as web server in my local machine. I have admin access to connect to the internet. Even though I am unable to install the Runway package from Umbraco installation.
But if I copy and paste the URL "http://packages.umbraco.org'
" in any of the browser (IE and Firefox), it is showing a blank web page which is not having anything. I had a doubt that whether the Runway package is available or not.
