Sun, you can set the permissions on each user logging in to Umrbaco. On each user you can set some different settings about wheter you want the user to see or nor see stuff in the context menu. In the "User"-section of Umbraco you can restrict some user from seing the "Rollback" and "Audit trail" options when they right click a node. This should be ehough to remove the options fro the menu on those specific users.
Maybe you should try checking out the FALM Housekeeping package. This package let's you clean up older versions of your nodes, so maybe this could help out?
Where can I disable rollback or version of content node?
Because all my contents are not so important, I do not need rollback function, so, history versions are not need at all. So, how can I disable them?

I also want to disable the versioning. Main reason being simplicity of database content for a search function I want to develop.
Kim A, I guess hiding the option is not enough for my case.
