    How to display page contents..

    Dear friends,

    I am new to UMBRACO.
I have converted an existing asp website to Umbraco..I created masterpage and home page. Its working fine. But I confused, how to move other pages like about us,contact us,etc.to umbraco. It has its own div and css.I have created a navigation macro and a text age document. If I navigate to other pages its only shows the text contents from that documents. But I want to bring other contents also in that page..How its possible..It will be very helpfull if you can give me step by step instruction..

    Thankyou..

    Hello,

This is an old blog post, but it might help: http://umbraco.com/follow-us/blog-archive/2007/12/3/dec-3-umbraco-basics,-document-types.aspx

It might be good to watch the Document Types and Templating videos here: http://umbraco.tv/videos/implementor/

    Thank you for you reply...

But I still confusing...How can I create different doctype for different contents such as contact us,products etc.what does the "Allowed templates" and "Allowed child nodetypes" meaning for..When I create new content it only shows the old document type named "textarea".I want to show newly created document type instead of that one..I attached the screen shot here.

    Hi Shafeeq,

I think when you see this section of videos about document types you will find the answer to allowed child nodetypes

    http://umbraco.tv/videos/implementor/fundamentals/document-types/allowed-child-nodetypes/

I you donĀ“t want to the hole section of the document type chapter, You should see the video called: Allowed child nodetypes.

I can see Jeroen has said something similar in an earlier post

    /Dennis
