Hi does anyone know if anyone has developed a package which integrates the Campaign Monitor API into Umbraco? I believe there used to be an integrated mailing list application in an earlier version of Umbraco, but it wasn't particularly scalable?
It's something that we (Gecko) have been waiting on for ages, and have had no time to implement. Very interested in developments here, depending on the feature set. Our main point is that nooone is going to make a 'better' campaignmonitor UI inside umbraco, so seeing where the integration happens and how it's done will be interesting.
I have not yet decided on this yet, I an way it would be really nice to get paied for my work, but there is also lots of potential in keeping things free, but for now its an undecided factor.
Okay. Could you use some help for the development? We use campaign monitor and i talked a little time back with Dirk about making an generic esp provider, but with campaign monitor as the first provider.
Okay, sounds cool, what are your experiences with Campaign Monitor, so far I have experienced that the API is a bit limited, for instance its not possible (yet) to get results with open dates, click dates and unsubscribe dates, wich ofcourse they have already, but just not provides in their API
But anyways, I am going to use OpenFlashCharts to display a pie diagram with opens, clicked and unsubscribes. and also I am right now experimenting with the umbraco tree (got the tree working) but the dashboard section is still experimental.
If you have ideas about this it would be of great help.
The API, as you say, has some info now available through the API. I have talked with campaign monitor about this and they say they try to keep the API updated, but they also need time to develop new stuff. So at some point they will fix it.
The custom tree part i have some expirence, have just made a custom section for a customer.
FlashCharts? I think the users of it will think it looks nice the first 2 times, but then, the animated parts just become a pain in the ass :)
I am a .NET developer and know one or two things about umbraco :)
well, that is not in this edit as of yet, except using the umbraco content tree to create the email content with html templating, and then give the generated html to campaign monitor. so we dont reinvent the wheel :), thiese are the initial thoughts about templating.
i agree with Robin on the templating part, and you could even add some placeholders for customized content. I've indeed exchanged some ideas with Anders, so I might give you guys some help on the development part. If you're interested, you can mail me at dirk at netaddicts dot be.
I am also interested in this thread as I have just quoted for a large client project that will include integration with Campaign Monitor ( which I was expecting to build myself ) Obviously no point re-inventing the wheel if one of you have got there first (depending on functionality)
I should find out on Friday if I have won the project, if so I will get in touch and see how you are getting on to either colaborate or help fund your development :)
I have been preoccupied with other stuff for a little while, but I have not forgotten this project as it is important to me to finish it also, however my promise to get this released this weekend, must be postponed for early january, sorry dudes, just overbooked myself abit.
Umbraco and Campaign Monitor

Thanks all!
No integrations yet (afaik), bit tim has created a mail engine that could be used for mailings (altho you don't get the advantages of using an esp)
Cheers,
/Dirk
This is something we are currently developing. Won't be ready till early Q2 2010 though.
Lau
Well sorry to bother you there, but I am roughly 2-3 weeks away from finishing up my integration of Campaign Monitor.
Best regards,
Robin
Can't wait to see your work Robin - good luck in finishing it off, I can't wait to try it!
Thanks for the appreciation, it is a great motivator to know the module is wanted. :D

How will the licens model be? Free and a paid version?

Lau/Robin,
Are you implementing the stats or the ability to create emails using the campaign monitor templates.
The template / email builder in CM is fantastic, is this something you're actually looking to replicate?
Rich

How's it going chaps? Any closer to the Holy Grail that is an Umbraco/Campaign Monitor package?
Hi All,

Hi Guys
I have been preoccupied with other stuff for a little while, but I have not forgotten this project as it is important to me to finish it also, however my promise to get this released this weekend, must be postponed for early january, sorry dudes, just overbooked myself abit.

@Chris, did you get that project?
If I only had the skills I'd be straight on this - what a killer package it could be!
Robin, have you released anything for the campaign monitor integration yet?
is working on a reply...
