    Host umbraco application

    Hi,

I have a question regarding umbraco CMS:

An application built with umbraco can be hosted on a server where there are no writing permissions ? I can try to uplad the images in the database, not on the media folder, but what can i do with generated umbraco.config file ? There are other situations where they are needed writing permissions ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi There

Images .e.g are stored in the filesystem, xslt, css file editing need write permission to edit in the system and as you mention, the umbraco.config file is the core of the system, so I don't think this would be possible.  If it is, the system would be severely crippled.

    Hi Dan,

thank you for the response. As a solution  for umbraco.config i can keep it in the database. Regarding xslt and css may not need writing rights, because the end user in my case, cannot create templates or document types, he can only modify the page content. And for the images, i will also keep them in the database. There are other things that need writing permissions ? What do you think ?
