    Umbraco developer in Bristol, UK

    Job description

Wildscreen (www.wildscreen.org.uk) is seeking an accomplished and ambitious Web Developer to contribute to the onward technical development of the organisation and its international flagship initiatives, including the award-winning ARKive project – www.arkive.org.

The successful candidate will have broad ranging web/new media knowledge and expertise; and a strong and demonstrable background in building, maintaining and developing content managed websites on a .NET platform, preferably Umbraco, and developing other bespoke technical systems all conforming to web standards. The role will involve migration of many aspects of our systems into a content managed environment, and the ongoing development of the platform and specific applications to meet Wildscreen’s future ambitions. The role will therefore require substantial hands-on coding work, along with design of architecture for our systems and public-facing websites.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual with a genuine interest in using these skills in a UK-based charity organisation working to promote biodiversity awareness, education and conservation. We need someone who works well in a team and who fully commits to the projects they are involved in.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Wildscreen technical development team based at the Wildscreen offices in Bristol, reporting to the Head of Technology. The post holder, as part of the technical development team, will work to ensure the reliable delivery of Wildscreen’s critical technical services, and be prepared to work extra hours and emergency cover if needed.

As part of a small but dynamic organisation, we expect high levels of commitment, flexibility and teamwork to ensure the integrity and quality of Wildscreen’s output is maintained.
