Functionality

1.    Upload MP3 files to their website (Sermons)

a.     Fields for MP3 files will be:

                                          i.    Date/Time of Sermon/Message

                                         ii.    Speaker (use database to store speakers, and have lookup of speakers when typing in the name so duplicate entries are not stored)

                                        iii.    Title of Sermon/Message

                                        iv.    Series, if applicable

1.    1. If series is entered, have a counter so Sermon/Message can be labeled part 1 or 4, etc.

2.    Have series lookup while typing in so duplicate entries aren’t stored.

                                         v.    Summary of message (paragraph or two of text)

                                        vi.    Biblical Reference – Have starting and ending verse via dropdown – pick Book, chapter, and verse for both start and end.

b.    Data for sermons will be stored in a new SQL Server database.

c.     MP3 files need to be stored in specific location on server with new directories created for month and year in the format yyyymm. Component will create folders if they don’t exist

d.    MP3 files will be encoded with the Speaker, Title, Date/time, series, and Biblical Reference

                                          i.    MP3 Name = Title of Sermon/Message

                                         ii.    MP3 Artist = Speaker Name

                                        iii.    MP3 Album = Series, if applicable

                                        iv.    Year = Year of message

                                         v.    Comments = Location: First Baptist Church of Elyria; Speaker Name: <speaker name>; Sermon/Message: <Sermon/Message Title>; Series: <Series Name>; Date: <date/time of message>

2.    Either have a new component or use the same one to list, search, and download sermons.

a.     Search by Date

b.    Search by Keyword (search Speaker, Sermon Title, Sermon Series)

c.     Search by Bible Verse (have drop down list with Book, Chapter, and Verse). Search between start and end verses for sermon.

3.    Listing/searching should be paginated in list of 7 (default) sermons based on search criteria.  Sorting by search criteria should be supported. Users should be given the option to display more than 7 sermons on a page.  Options should be 7, 70, all for pagination.

a.     List in format like the layout attached.

b.    Listing can be sorted by Date

c.     Listing can be sorted by Series (Series name and then ordered by date)

d.    Default listing is by date

e.    Listings will be paginated based on number of results.

4.    Users will need to be able to upload/edit the sermons only after some form of authentication.  This could be inside of Umbraco or against the Umbraco user database. 

5.    Editing and deleting of sermons should be allowed after authentication

a.     Any editing of forms needs to follow the base rules above

b.    Changes in information should update the related MP3 files with the new tag information

6.    The search/upload functionality should be able to be implemented into Umbraco pages via the Umbraco content editors.

7.    The MP3s should be able to be downloaded or played live from the website

8.    A podcast should be setup to allow people to subscribe to the sermons.

 

Additional Project Info:

There is already a SQL Server database with the Bible broken out by book, chapter, and verse.

Any new databases will be added via script provided by developer to create tables and insert data.

Stored Procedures should be used for CRUD operations

Developer will provide software, database scripts, and components with instructions on installing on Windows 2003 Web server. We will do all production installation. Developer will assist with support in getting things installed/running.
