    v6 Hackathon/Learnathon

Umbraco v6 is here, so we're putting together an intense Hackathon/Learnathon at The Cogworks HQ.

This is not a bug fixing session. We're running this to help people dive into v6 and MVC. As you know from our last hackathon, the focus is on things that you can achieve in a super short amount of time. You will be asked to set your own realistic acheivable goals for each hour.

    Format

    - Pico sprints (1 hr super compact agile sprints)

    - Each hour will have a set achievable goal

    - Retrospective at each hour - What went well, what went bad, how can we acheive more in the next hour

    - Lunch time retrospective with pizza to discuss outcomes and any issues.

    Learning goals for various levels

Rambler (Novice): Create a working micro site - nested views, partial views, possibly a Contact form page (using Surface controllers).

Adventure Seeker (Intermediate): Contact form page (using Surface Controllers), Child actions, ContentService to create nodes, Ajax form post to Surface Controller.

Mountain Ranger (Advanced): Hijacking routes, Custom strongly typed models, using the new API's to do more advanced stuff.

Custom: Bring your own specific acheivable goal.

    What to bring

Please come with a laptop with Umbraco v6 already installed and running.

If you will be using Visual Studio, please have a solution already created with v6 installed and running.

Coffee, snacks, and lunch (pizza) will be provided.
