For now start by reserving the date. And if you're up for helping arranging a local celebration/meetup or maybe even knows a place that would host it, send me an e-mail. As we get closer we'll use the wiki.
We got plenty of ideas such as local meetup+parties, getting official custom Umbraco beer produced, visiting multiple countries on the day (Tim, Per and I could jump planes and visit 2-3 countries each on the same day!), etc. but if you have any ideas throw your comments in this thread.
In the diary.. would be happy to organise a UK meet up of anyone fancy doing this in Reading?
Might even persuade Microsoft UK to give us a room in their HQ, if there are enough of us, as have spoken to them before about this ( know a few people who work there :) ) Another option would be the building I currently work in, nice shiny glass building 5 minutes walk from the station, but it would cost a few £ to hire a room for the day.. so not ideal compared to free ;-)
It's in the diary, if some others want to do a first german meetup I am willing to organize this. If not I am thinking about joining another one in the near (belgium, netherlands)
Ok, what's in gonna take to get a group of people together on the East Coast? How about we meet in Boston at Boston Beer Works! Who's in? I'll organize if there is interest.
The Reading meeting sounds good to me, But I may be unable to make it, so am happy to arrange something in Cornwall if unable to make it. (Will try and confirm ASAP).
Chris - If we're thinking of coming out of london and doing a day long meet up like last summer then I've got access to the conference suite here in Farnborough (just south of reading). It would be free for the day.
We've just updated the Agenda an location for the Dutch meetup. We've also added a registration form. Please fill it in so we know how many people will stay for dinner.
Umbraco turns 5 - worldwide celebration
On February 16th 2010 Umbraco turns five as a released open source project (screenshots from the 2.0 release: http://web.archive.org/web/20050312074406/www.umbraco.org/screenshots/ :-)). We think that should be celebrated.

Yup, but first I will try to get some germans out of their seats *g*. If this will not work I will join you in Belgium. Looking forward to it...
Thomas
I always like the sound of party, any excuse to drink beer & talk geekiness about Umbraco - heaven!
Chris count me in as UK attendee. Who else is up for a UK bash ?!
Benelux party!!! I'll be there! ;-)
Ok, what's in gonna take to get a group of people together on the East Coast? How about we meet in Boston at Boston Beer Works! Who's in? I'll organize if there is interest.
Cheers and congratulations to Niels and the core!

Yup I'm in for the UK meetup
cool, one more for london.
One more for Reading. Used to live there myself and worked on TVP next door to Microsoft campus.
Would love to be there for a Netherlands/Belgium meeting. If that doesn't get off the ground then I would go to London, love that city as well! :-)
I'll be up for a meetup in London if this weather ever clears up and the trains start running again.
Another vote for the UK meet-up in Reading!
London / Reading, they're next to each other, its all good! ;)
The Reading meeting sounds good to me, But I may be unable to make it, so am happy to arrange something in Cornwall if unable to make it. (Will try and confirm ASAP).
I am currently in talk with a few people to see if we get something sorted out in London.
So watch this space...

Since Leusden is near Amersfoort and both my sister and dad are in Amersfoort, I will have dinner with them instead, no offense :-)
Other than that: Rock on! :D
Hi Sebastiaan,
No worries. come back later for a few beers?
Cheers,
Richard
Might do, depends on how much fun I'll have with my family, haven't seen them in a few months, so lots to catch up on! ;-)
And now we have a meeting in Germany: http://our.umbraco.org/events/umbraco-5th-birthday-meetup-in-bad-homburg
