    Link to document is empty

    Hi

I've just installed Umbraco 4.6.1 locally.  I've noticed a problem when editing content that the "Link to document" is always empty.  It just displays a slash ie. "/"

Anyone know how to resolve this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Danziq

Is this happening after you have published the node?

    /Jan

    Hi Jan

It is the same before and after publishing a node.

    Thanks.

Any progress on this? I've got an install showing this behaviour.

Just upgraded the site in question from 4.0.3 to 4.6.1.

Will try the latest nightly and see if this fixes it. Laux

    Hi Laux

Haven't found a solution yet.  Let me know if you get it sorted.

    Cheers.

    Try...

    /umbraco/dialogs/republish.aspx?xml=true

Thanks Laux - I gave that a try but no change.

    Hey Danzig

Is this happening on all of your nodes, or just a single one? Could you make sure that none of the parent nodes to the node that you try to publish are not published? Okay that did sound a little weird. Just want to make sure that all of the parent nodes of the node you try to publish are actually published themself.

    /Kim A

    Hi Kim

There's only a handful of pages and they're all at root level.  (Unless you consider the "Content" node itself to be the root level.  The pages all come off the Content node.)

The issue is happening on all page nodes - Link to document always just shows a slash.

Could it be something to do with needing to set hostname/s?  (I've tried that but didn't make any difference.)

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello Danziq,

I got the same problem and I just moved the page under my home page instead of being in the same level and now it's fine. That wasn't a problem in previous versions

I hope it'll help you too.

    Thanks, Giorgos

    Hi Giorgos (and Danzig)

Is there any chance you guys are using the umbracoRedirect property?

Jan, no I am not using it

I just created a page to use it as a cusotm admin so I tried to give it specific access and set up login and failed redirect pages. That's all! Once I move the page under the home page it worked fine. Another thing to mention without know if it matters is that website is working under a subdomain which is set up in the hostnames menu.

    Cheers, Giorgos

    Hi Jan

I don't think I'm using the umbracoRedirect property - where would I check that?

Giorgos - I tried creating a page under my home page like you suggested and the Link to Document worked!  But it's still empty for all the root level pages.  Does that provide a clue for a fix anyone?

    Thanks!

    Hi Danziq

I don't think that is the issue from what Giorgos wrote in the second post and from what you write yourself. Just a thought but i seems unlikely. You can see if the umbracoRedirect property is being used on the document. It's usually set on the "Generic property" tab but it's not a default property so you need to create it yourself...and I guess you have not done that...and as mentioned it's probably not the issue.

Unfortunately I'm not sure what's going on.

    /Jan
