This is an easy fix, as its just a CSS thing and not the editor ouputting wrong markup. I will see if I can get hold of one of the guys tomorrow to get this sorted as it wont take a minute to fix.
@Warren - it's an explicity styling of the <em /> tag used by tinyMCE for italics (font weight increase, font style reset). Per said they'd done that for some reason but they obviously didn't address all concerns :P
Bump! Just wanted to say I'm keen to see the option to use italics both in the wiki and the forum.
I appreciate there probably aren't many devs out there who care about sentence craft but emphasising a word is so much more elegant in italics rather than bold, which can seem shouty.
It surely must be easy to add. Any chance? Pretty please?
Wiki editor Italic comes out in bold
When you add italics it previews correctly in italics but is displayed in bold.
Italic test - this should be in italics, but is in bold
This is also true for the forum - I have posted about it here some days ago http://our.umbraco.org/forum/ourumb-dev-forum/bugs/2831-When-the-italic-style-is-chosen-it-is-formatted-as-bold
