The title sums it up but the problem is this.
An Umbraco 4.0.4.2 website is up and running with a few hostnames applied to the root node, so looks like this:
http://domain.co.ukhttp://www.domain.co.uk
http://doman.co.ukhttp://domainforsubnode.co.ukhttp://www.domain.co.ukhttp://domainforsubnode.co.uk

Any ideas why this might happen and how to solve it?

Manage hostnames of sub-nodes appends domain to all other alternative URLs in 4.0.4.2
The title sums it up but the problem is this.
An Umbraco 4.0.4.2 website is up and running with a few hostnames applied to the root node, so looks like this:
But when I add any hostnames to children of the root, the alternative links get corrupted and look like this:
