    15-20 seconds to publish simple page...

    I am running Umbraco umbraco v 4.0.1 (Assembly version: 1.0.3373.718) on VistaDB. My problem is it takes 15-30 seconds to publish even a simple page. The site front end runs great, but editing content is incredibly slow. Anybody have any tips to improve performance?

    You can turn off ContinouslyUpdateXmlDiskCache: Update the XmlCache whenever content is published in the UmbracoSettings.config

    Any chance you're using the embedded VistaDB? I've heard reports that it is sometimes very slow.

    tried to set "ContinouslyUpdateXmlDiskCache" to false - but no big difference
