Not sure if this is something I'm missing on the configuration side or a bug but after I upgraded to 4.8.1 I see the src field in the img tag to be handled differently. In the DB is can see the IMG tag to be <img src='~/media/....' ../> when I checked it on the admin console (in the old version of the site that uses Umbraco 4.7.1), ~ is removed so the HTML is something like <img src='/media/....' ../>, the site works just fine. Now on the new test site with 4.8.1, ~ is not stripped out in the RichText Editor and from the actual rendering of the page so it results in missing images on the site.Is this a bug or a configuration setting I forget to apply after I upgraded the site to 4.8.1.ThanksClaudio
IMG SRC parsing changed in 4.8.1?

I just experienced this problem myself, after upgrading from 4.5.2 to 4.9.1. Did you ever find a resolution as to what caused this?
I gave up, I don't have time to find out what is going on so I decide to keep the site on the old version. I'll upgrade only when the issue is fixed.
