I have a odt file created in openOffice that I can not link to from my blog. Whenever I try to link to the file Umbraco serves up a 404 error. I replaced the file in the node with a PDF and it work just fine. I tried renaming the file to something simpler and it still didn't work.
It's probably because either the mime type has not been set in IIS or that it is a file extension that is not allowed. But I think it's the former.
The mime-type can be added to IIS and I think it's "application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text" for .odt files...(at least that's what I found googling ;-))
Once the mime-type has been added you should be able to get the file.
