    Please support SQL CE

SQL CE 4 is a server less database, it can support medium trust.

Now VistaDB has license problem, so you can use sql ce to instead of vistadb.

SQL CE 4 is supported by Umbraco, if you find any bugs then submit them on the codeplex issue register

It's not an installable option because SQL CE 4 was not released when Umbraco 4.5 was released. There was a NDA from Microsoft and it could not be mentioned, so we could not advertise that it was supported.

I'd expect that it will be able to be used from the installer in the 4.5.1 bug fixing release which is currently in development. In the mean time you can change the connection string once it's installed to use SQL CE and then run the SQL script against the instance.

It would be really cool if SQL CE 4 could be used from the installer with Umbraco 4.5.1. It keeps getting better and better :).

    Hello there,

Just thought I would add that it's not there yet in the beta install of 4.5.2 yet (tried it just now).

Personally, I am having difficulties even creating an empty CE4 database. Apparently it's easy using webmatrix...but I reckon thats all lies!!! I couldn't get it working there either :)

I think best just to wait until its out of CTP and properly supported in Visual Studio.

SQL CE will be officially supported - we're working with Microsoft on this one. Any time soon!

    Hi Guys

    I hope someone can help.

I've build a website using SQL CE, now I need to upgrade to MSSQL, is there any easy way to do this, webmatrix has a migrate button under the database section to migrate it, but it requires a username and password, No database username and password is required when setting up a SQLCE, It is now asking for a username and password but I don't have one. it is not the same as the one setup specifically for umbraco.

    Please can someone help

    Thanks
    Brendan
